Getting Started

Getting Started

Setting up the game might seem like a daunting task, but if you follow the short steps below it will be fine!

Step one: Layout

This is a picture illustrating how the game looks once it's set up. As you can see, you have many options as to which box you want to store the cards in.

The things you should lay down on the table are:

  1. Unfold the board and put it down on the table
  2. Take the Event and Victory piles, shuffle them, and put them on the table next to the board. Make sure to leave space for the discard piles
  3. Take 6 PokéBalls and 5 Full Restores for each player, and put them down on the table in front of each player.
  4. If you don't have a suitable box for the items, lay them down on the table (one pile for each item).

Step two: Starting

Once everything is set up, each player has to choose a Starter Pokémon. You may choose to choose one, or you may decide to throw the dice for it.

After everyone has received a Starter Pokémon, you throw the dice again. The one who throws the highest may start his turn. Don't know how to play your turn? Check this page.
